This is how parents and guardians can be involved in 2024 SHS selection process

The 2024 school selection process for Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates has commenced in Accra.

Commencing on August 28, the exercise ends on September 4, 2024.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) requested parents and guardians to actively participate in the exercise to guarantee a smooth placement process this year. The announcement was signed by Prince Agyemang-Duah, the acting director of the division responsible for schools and instruction.

Additionally, before to the final placement process, candidates will be able to verify their school selections by texting a shortcode, according to the release. 
We’ll release the shortcode-containing details later.

The announcement comes after the 2024 BECE, which involved 570,461 candidates nationwide between July 8 and July 15, 2024.

Selecting 

Candidates can select senior high schools or technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions of their choosing for placement throughout the school selection procedure.

Accordingly, in order to guarantee a smooth selection process, Regional Directors of Education have been directed to notify all relevant parties, such as examination officials and Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education, about the dates of the procedure.

Additionally, GES has stated that representatives from its headquarters will supervise the nationwide selection process to make sure that the rules and regulations are followed and that the placement process is transparent.
