Sammy Gyamfi, the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) National Communications Officer, has found inspiration in the Bible after John Mahama won the just concluded 2024 election.
The outspoken politician compared the re-election of the former president to the stone that was rejected and turned into the cornerstone, citing Matthew 21:42.
In addition, he reiterated gratitude to God by quoting Psalm 118:23 while speaking to thrilled NDC supporters at Mr. Mahama’s campaign office on Monday.
He praised Mr. Mahama’s commitment to service, citing his tenure in a number of national roles.
“He is a man who has served this nation throughout his life. He served as president between 2012 and 2016. He was voted out and some said he could not become president again. Some mocked him and said he is the only president who has served for one term.
“But today the Lord who crowns kings has given him the presidency again. The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone. It is the doing of the lord and it is marvelous in our sight,” he stated.
He continued, saying, “We call him the nation builder and he will lead us all to build the Ghana we want together.”
He expressed confidence that the future Mahama administration would advance Ghana. In the meantime, the highly fought election has been declared won by Mahama by the Electoral Commission (EC).
According to the data gathered from 267 constituencies, Mrs. Mensa clarified that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer garnered 6,328,397, or 56.55%. His close opponent, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), received 4,657,304 votes, or 41.61% of the total.
