NDC Commends Speaker Alban Bagbin for Exemplary Leadership in Parliament

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has praised the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, for his outstanding leadership during today’s parliamentary proceedings. In a press release issued from the party’s National Secretariat, the NDC acknowledged the Speaker’s maturity in presiding over the affairs of Parliament, describing his handling of the session as a “masterclass.”

The statement highlighted Speaker Bagbin’s exceptional management of parliamentary business, emphasizing how his leadership enhances the integrity and independence of Parliament. “We applaud him for working in the interest of Parliament and the people of Ghana,” the release stated, further noting that Bagbin’s leadership continues to elevate the priorities of the public above partisan interests.

The NDC also extended its commendation to its Majority Caucus for their “unwavering resoluteness” in upholding democratic values within the legislative process. Their determination, according to the party, reflects a commitment to resisting any form of oppression and safeguarding the will of the people. “Their steadfastness inspires confidence and hope in our determination to resist oppressor’s rule,” the statement read.

The press release concluded by reaffirming the NDC’s commitment to democracy and its mission to foster a more prosperous future for all Ghanaians. “The NDC remains resolute in its dedication to fostering democracy and ensuring a brighter, more prosperous future for all citizens,” declared Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, General Secretary of the NDC, who signed the statement.

The party’s expression of support for Speaker Bagbin comes at a time when parliamentary conduct is under scrutiny, signaling the NDC’s focus on maintaining transparency, fairness, and independence within the legislative arm of government.
