Basake Holy Stars Football Club and Dreams Football Club played out a pulsating 0:0 draw at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Aiyinasi.
Both teams battled it fiercely from the start, with Holy Stars eager to pick a win in their maiden home win in the Ghana Premier League. The home crowd cheered their team on but neither side find the back of the net before half time.
After the break, Coach Abdullai Gazele introduced several substitutes, including Eric Ackah, Francis Oteng and Sidibe Ben Daouda, in a bid to change the outcome of the game. Dreams FC also made tactical adjustments, bringing on Shaban Mohammed yet both teams struggled to score with the chances created.
Basake Holy Stars created more dangerous attacks, with 71 compared to Dreams FC’s 38, but ultimately lacked the clinical edge to secure all three points.
The draw sees both sides take a point each, but Holy Stars will feel disappointed not to have capitalised on their dominance in front of their home crowd.
