The C.C. Blay Foundation, under the leadership of philanthropist Dr. Clement Clinton Blay, has lent significant support to the Atuabo Development Club’s (ADC) Back-to-School Supply Drive 2026, reinforcing efforts to promote educational advancement within the Atuabo enclave.
The intervention forms part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to educational empowerment and community development, particularly initiatives that seek to create meaningful opportunities for children and young people.
The donation was presented on behalf of Dr. Clement Clinton Blay and the C.C. Blay Foundation by Benjamin Kingsley Bonzoh, popularly known as Sir Benzyma, during the programme held at the Atuabo Astroturf on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
Speaking at the event, Sir Benzyma described the ADC initiative as a laudable educational intervention and reaffirmed the Foundation’s conviction that education remains a fundamental pillar of sustainable development.
“We firmly believe that education is the cornerstone of sustainable development. Providing essential learning materials is therefore not merely an act of support, but a meaningful investment in the aspirations, potential and future of our children,” he stated.
The 2026 edition of the Back-to-School Supply Drive benefited four schools within the Atuabo enclave. They are Atuabo Methodist School, West Coast Academy, Royal Preparatory School and Asemnda Suazo Methodist School.
The beneficiary pupils received a range of essential educational supplies, including school uniforms, exercise books, jerseys, erasers, rulers, school bags, pens, pencils and mathematical sets.
The comprehensive support is expected to ease some of the financial pressures associated with preparing children for the new academic year while equipping them with basic resources required for effective learning.
Sir Benzyma commended the Atuabo Development Club for spearheading the initiative and urged the beneficiaries to make prudent use of the items provided.
“We commend ADC for this laudable initiative and encourage the beneficiaries to utilise these resources judiciously, remain resolute in their studies and pursue excellence with discipline and determination,” he said.
He further noted that sustained collaboration among community organisations, philanthropists and other stakeholders remains essential to addressing educational challenges at the grassroots level.
