Chief Justice throws out petition to remove Kissi Agyebeng from office

The Chief Justice, Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo has thrown out the petition purportedly submitted by former Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu for the removal of his successor, Kissi Agyebeng from office.

3news’ usually reliable sources say Justice Torkornoo said the factual and legal foundation of the petition falls short of the standard required to establish a prima facie case for the removal of the special prosecutor.

In the petition it was alleged that the Office of the Special Prosecutor engaged in procurement breaches in the purchase of vehicles and abused judges.

Other allegations include violations of citizens’ rights through arrests and detentions, violations of the right to information, and improper appointments of personnel to the office.
