St. Theresa’s Technical Institute Opens Admissions Under Free TVET Programme

St. Theresa’s Technical Institute, located at Awiaso-Aiyinase in the Western Region, has announced the commencement of admissions for prospective students under the Government of Ghana’s Free Technical and Vocational Education and Training (Free TVET) programme.

The initiative, which forms part of the government’s commitment to expanding access to quality technical education, offers students tuition-free and admission fee-free training in various career-oriented disciplines aimed at equipping them with practical and employable skills.

The institute, which operates under the motto “Empowering Skills, Building Futures,” is inviting qualified applicants, particularly Junior High School graduates, to enrol in programmes designed to meet the growing demands of Ghana’s labour market.

Programmes currently available include Electrical Engineering Technology, Catering and Hospitality Management, Computer Hardware and Networking Technology, Building Construction Technology, and Fashion Design Technology.

According to the institution, the courses combine classroom instruction with hands-on practical training to prepare students for employment, entrepreneurship and further education.

Students pursuing Electrical Engineering Technology receive training in electrical installation, maintenance and repairs, while those enrolled in Catering and Hospitality Management are equipped with practical skills in food preparation, baking, customer service and hotel operations.

The Computer Hardware and Networking Technology programme focuses on computer systems installation, maintenance, networking and IT support, whereas Building Construction Technology trains learners in masonry, surveying, construction techniques and site management. Fashion Design Technology provides students with technical and creative skills in garment construction, sewing and fashion production.

Management of the institute says emphasis is placed on practical learning, experienced instructors and industry-relevant training to ensure graduates are adequately prepared for the world of work.

The school has encouraged prospective applicants and parents to take advantage of the Free TVET policy, which continues to remove financial barriers to technical and vocational education while promoting skills development among the youth.

Interested applicants can contact the institute on 024 473 4145 or 054 098 9859 for enquiries and admission assistance.
