New Edubiase United president Abdul Salam Yakubu has confirmed that he is in the process of selling the club, revealing that negotiations have reached an advanced stage.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s SportsNite, Yakubu disclosed that about 70 percent of the takeover process has been completed, although the transaction has yet to be finalised.
“I’m selling New Edubiase United. Seventy percent of the deal has already been completed. I will tell my story at the right time,” Yakubu said.
The experienced football administrator declined to reveal the identity of the prospective buyers or the financial details of the proposed sale, stating that he would explain the circumstances behind his decision at the appropriate time.
Yakubu has been one of the prominent figures in Ghanaian football, with New Edubiase United enjoying spells in the Ghana Premier League under his leadership before dropping to the Access Bank Division One League.
His latest revelation is expected to generate significant interest among football followers, with many eager to learn who will assume ownership of the Ashanti Region-based club should the deal be successfully completed.
An official announcement is expected once negotiations are concluded and all necessary procedures have been finalised.
