On September 18, 2024, the Minerals Commission is scheduled to open a new office in Bibiani, which is situated in the Western North Region.
With the goal of greatly improving service delivery, the government is implementing this program as part of its plan to decentralize the Commission’s operations.
The Ghana Bauxite, Asante Gold Bibiani Mine, and Asante Gold Chirano Mine are the three major mining enterprises in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality that will be supervised by the new office. The Commission wants to speed up the processing of mining permits and paperwork and offer more effective services, which is why it opened this office.
Martin Kwaku Ayisi, the Minerals Commission’s chief executive officer, voiced hope for the beneficial effects this new office will have on the organization’s overall performance.
He underlined how the government is committed to growing Ghana’s mining industry by making wise resource and technological investments.
Mr. Ayisi states that the processing of mining licenses and documentation should be streamlined as a result of this expenditure.
He also emphasized that the establishment of the new office will remove the requirement for mining businesses in the Western North Region to travel to Accra for documentation, which is expected to have a positive long-term impact on the mining industry.
