‘Hearts of Oak Treated Me Badly’ – Salifu Ibrahim Breaks Silence on Exit

Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Salifu Ibrahim has opened up about his departure from the Ghanaian giants, alleging that he was treated unfairly during his time at the club.

The 26-year-old, who now plays for Ethiopian Premier League side Wolayta Dicha Sport Club, claimed that Hearts of Oak sanctioned a loan move without seeking his consent, describing the experience as one of the most disappointing moments of his career.

Speaking in an interview, Salifu said: “Hearts of Oak treated me badly during my time there. They loaned me without my consent.”

The Ghanaian-born Beninese international joined Hearts of Oak from Techiman Eleven Wonders under then-head coach Samuel Boadu, where he quickly established himself as one of the club’s most influential midfielders.

During his spell with the Phobians, Salifu played a pivotal role in the club’s domestic success, helping Hearts win the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League title before lifting the MTN FA Cup on two occasions.

Despite those achievements, the midfielder insists his relationship with the club ended on a sour note due to the manner in which his future was handled.

Following his departure from Hearts, Salifu moved to Kosovo to join FC Drita before sealing a switch to Wolayta Dicha Sport Club in the Ethiopian Premier League, where he currently continues his professional career.
