Reports claiming that Awulae Amankrah Panyin Ababio VI has been installed as the next supreme chief of the Gwira Traditional Area have been flatly denied and rejected by the Gwira Traditional Council (GTC).
The Traditional Council claims that the publication and the alleged move are unfounded, inaccurate, and deceptive.
The Gwira Traditional Council’s president and paramount chief, Awulae Angama Tu-Agyan, released and signed a statement that included this information.
“It is untrue to say that a new Paramount Chief has been installed or enstooled,” the statement clarified.
The lawfully acknowledged Paramount Chief, Awulae Angama Tu-Agyan II, continues to legitimately rule the Gwira Traditional Area and carry out his duties in compliance with the law, custom, and tradition.
The statement claimed that because the alleged chief has no right to the position and has been involved in illegal actions, the police command is presently looking for him.
The Gwira Traditional Council therefore warned individuals, organizations, divisional and sub- chiefs, investors, and the general public to desist from engaging with the said individual or recognizing him in any capacity.
“Any dealings with him will be deemed a violation of the authority of the legitimate Gwira Traditional Council and may have legal consequences.”
The Council also urged media outlets to verify information with the appropriate authority before publication, as such unverified stories only serve to mislead the public and disrupt the peace and development of the GTC.
The GTC reaffirmed its dedication to the region’s development in the areas of infrastructure, health, education, and unity, among other vital areas.
It urged residents, partners, and stakeholders to back the Council’s initiatives to promote prosperity and growth for the Gwira community.
Awulae Angama Tu-Agyan II, the Paramount Chief and President of the Gwira Traditional Council, is still the only person who can legitimately hold the Gwira stool and lead the Gwira Traditional Area, according to the statement, which also stated that “any attempt to usurp his authority or create confusion will not be tolerated.”
