Accredited elders, heads of families, and principal kingmakers of Gwira Traditional Area in the Nzema East Municipality of the Western Region, along with the allodia owners of the Gwira Bamiankor Royal Paramount Stool land, have carried out the necessary rites to legally, customarily, and traditionally install a new Paramount Chief of Gwira Traditional Area under the stool name, Awulae Amankrah Panyin VI.
A few days ago, at a vibrant traditional event at Gwira Bamiakor, a businessman was formally appointed as the new Omanhene (Paramount chief) of the Gwira Traditional Area.
This move would significantly reduce the area’s protracted Bamiankor Gwira Royal Paramount chieftaincy dispute.
The official rites/rituals were performed by accredited elders, heads of families, and the principal stool father of Gwira Traditional Area to install the businessman as a new Paramount Chief for Bamiankor Gwira.
“The royal family members would like to caution all the divisional and sub-chiefs as well as investors, individual esteemed organisations and Minerals Commission of Ghana to immediately refrain from dealing with one Henry Acquah alias Awulae Agama Tuagyan who is parading himself as the Paramount Chief of the area as any of such act will be deemed contrary to the dictates of the Paramountcy and shall be observed as a gross disrespect to the stool,” the owners of the Gwira Traditional Area stressed.
Bamiankor Gwira Paramount chief cannot be installed by the unaccredited elders and kingmakers who carried out the ceremonies for Henry Acquah’s installation in an unauthorized, illegal, and unconventional manner.
As a result of this development, the allodia owners of the Gwira Bamiankor Royal Paramount Stool, along with recognized elders, heads of families, and kingmakers of the Gwira Traditional Area, have decided to install Awulae Amankrah Panyin AbbabioVI as the area’s new and legitimate Paramount Chief.
Since they had appointed Awulae Amankrah Panyin Abbabio VI as the new Paramount Chief of the region, the elders of Bamiakor Gwira reiterated their call for all residents, including private and public organizations and individuals, to cease doing business with Henry Acquah, also known as Awulae Agama Tuagyan, as a chief of Bamiakor Gwira right away.
The new Paramount Chief congratulated the Bamiankor Gwira royal family in his acceptance address, urged cooperation to develop the Gwira Traditional Area, and pledged to put in a lot of effort with all parties involved to safeguard all the people and property on Gwiraland.
In addition, he urged unity in the development of Gwira and promised to collaborate with the elders to strengthen the chieftaincy institution in the region.
He, therefore, urged the few disgruntled members in Gwira Traditional Area to bury their differences and join forces with him to work hard to bring the needed social and infrastructure developmental projects and programmes to the area.
“I call on all and sundry to rally behind me to harness the opportunities for my people, as education, health, good sanitation, good road networks, youth sports as well as a capacity building for the young people will my topmost priority,” Awulae Amankrah Panyin Abbabio VI asserted.
The Western Regional House of Chiefs was presided over by Awulae Amankrah Panyin IV, whose legacy will live on forever.
Awulae Amankrah Panyin IV was more than just a leader to the people of Gwira; he represented solidarity, power, and advancement. Gwira’s development has significantly deteriorated since his death.
In his absence, the land that once flourished under his direction has remained stagnant and made very little growth.
Currently, we expect that Awulae Amankrah Panyin Abbabio VI, the newly appointed Omanhene of Gwiraland, would carry on the task that his predecessor began.
The future of Gwira rests on safeguarding its citizens and assets against malevolent entities, particularly the negative influence of those such as Angama Tuagyan, whose activities could jeopardize the nation’s advancement.
“We trust that the new Omanhene will rise to the challenge, defend Gwira from those with ill intentions, and lead the community toward the growth and prosperity it rightfully deserves.
“The expectations are high, but we believe that with determination and commitment, the land of Gwira will once again flourish under wise and visionary leadership,” the citizens of Gwira who graced the occasion stated.
