NDC constituency chairman, two others arrested for disrupting DRIP commissioning

On September 16, 2024, in Apam, Central Region, there was a violent disturbance that resulted in one person being hurt. The Ghana Police Service has since made three arrests and initiated a manhunt for those who may be implicated.

Along with others, the arrested suspects—Alhaji Kassim Mohammed, the NDC chairman for the Gomoa West constituency, Stephen Cobbinah, also known as Bonjour, and Joseph Mensah, also known as Kofi Kokor—allegedly armed themselves with offensive weapons and disrupted a District Roads Improvement Programme (DRIP) commissioning ceremony in Apam, which set off the violent incident.

Joseph Mensah, Stephen Cobbinah, and Alhaji Kassim Mohammed are being held by the police and will soon be charged when they are arraigned in court.

To bring the remaining suspects to justice, the authorities are relentlessly pursuing them.
