UDS indefinitely postpones reopening of 2024/2025 academic year

The reopening date of the University for Development Studies (UDS) for the academic year 2024–2025 has been postponed indefinitely. The original date was scheduled for September 27, 2024.

The Senior Staff Association-Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG) and the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), two university staff associations that have been causing disruptions to academic services, are the ones responsible for this decision.

In a press release, UDS management made this announcement, expressing regret for any difficulty caused and promising to offer information after the industrial action is completed.

The University of Ghana has declared that after the current strike is put off, more details regarding the academic year 2024–2025 will be disclosed to both students and the general public.

This update follows the University of Ghana’s decision to postpone the commencement of lectures because of the strike.
