Kumasi Asante Kotoko are reportedly closing in on the signing of Emmanuel Mamah and Issah Yakubu as the Porcupine Warriors continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.

Both players are set to train with the Asante Kotoko squad in Accra during the second phase of the club’s pre-season preparations, giving head coach Eric Tinkler the opportunity to assess their qualities before the club makes a final decision on their potential moves.

Mamah, a former FC Samartex forward, is being considered as Kotoko seek to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new campaign. His experience in the Ghana Premier League could add further depth and competition to the club’s forward line.

Yakubu, meanwhile, is also expected to join the Kotoko squad in Accra for the training programme.

The 33-year-old midfielder, who currently plays for Basake Holy Stars, is no stranger to the Porcupine Warriors, having previously featured for Asante Kotoko during the 2012/13 season.

His familiarity with the club, coupled with his experience in Ghanaian football, could enhance Kotoko’s options in midfield as Tinkler continues to shape his squad.
