President Mahama names Haruna Iddrisu Education Minister-designate, Agbodza for Roads

A fresh group of Cabinet nominations has been announced by President John Dramani Mahama as part of his governance strategy.

One of the main candidates, Haruna Iddrisu, a seasoned politician and former Minority Leader in Parliament, has been appointed to head the Education Ministry.

Kwame Agbodza, a governor, has been proposed to lead the Roads and Highways Ministry, a division vital to the advancement of infrastructure and national interconnectedness.

Eric Opoku has been appointed Minister for Food and Agriculture-designate in the agricultural sector.

Opoku, who is well-known for his vast knowledge of rural development, is anticipated to lead programs meant to increase food security and assist farmers.

NDC Youth Organiser Opare Addo has been proposed as the first head of the newly established Ministry for Youth Development and Empowerment.

To combat unemployment and encourage creativity among Ghana’s youth, the ministry wants to give priority to youth-focused policies and initiatives.

The nominee for the position of head of the Ministry of Trade and Agribusiness is Elizabeth Ofosu Adjare. She will be tasked with advancing agriculture as a major engine of economic growth and fortifying Ghana’s commercial connections.

Emelia Arthur is the nominee to head the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and Ahmed Ibrahim is the nominee to head the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs.
