In an effort to improve the nation’s healthcare services’ accessibility and quality, President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his commitment to moving on with and completing the building of unfinished hospital facilities.
Speaking at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission’s National Convention in Winneba on Thursday, January 9, Mr. Mahama gave his word that “investment in human resources and infrastructure will be our top priorities in order to guarantee accessible, high-quality medical care.”
“We shall continue abandoned health projects and operationalise them as key steps towards expanding healthcare access nationwide.”
This is in response to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s appeal during his final State of the Nation Address (SONA) on January 3, to President Mahama to complete Agenda 111 projects.
If elected to power in 2024, Mr. Mahama pledged during the campaign to carry out all of the nation’s unfinished projects.
The previous government only finished three of the 111 planned hospitals, and they were not yet functioning.
