Hagan Koffie wins MVP award as Basake Holy Stars beat Aduana FC in GPL Week 30 clash

Midfielder Hagan Koffie produced a stellar performance to win the NASCO Man of the Match award as Basake Holy Stars defeated Aduana FC 2-0 in Week 30 of the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday afternoon at the Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III Sports Arena in Ampain.

The 29-year-old midfielder played a key role in Holy Stars’ impressive victory, controlling the tempo of the game and providing stability in midfield as the hosts secured their 11th consecutive home win.

Basake Holy Stars dominated large spells of the encounter, especially after Aduana FC defender Samuel Kuffour was sent off in the 21st minute following a dangerous challenge on Prince Tweneboah.

The hosts made full use of their one-man advantage in the 35th minute when Jacob Boazee converted from the penalty spot to give Holy Stars the lead before halftime.

Prince Tweneboah later wrapped up the victory in the 84th minute with a calm finish after another well-worked attacking move from the Basake-based side.

Hagan Koffie remained influential throughout the game with his impressive passing, ball recovery and leadership in midfield, earning praise from supporters and officials after the final whistle.

The victory sees Basake Holy Stars move to 9th place on the Ghana Premier League table with 43 points, while Aduana FC drop to 6th position with 46 points.

Holy Stars will next host league leaders Medeama SC, while Aduana FC travel to Accra to face Hearts of Oak in their upcoming fixture.
