Award-winning Ghanaian musician Dennis Nana Dwamena, popularly known as KiDi, has officially announced his departure from Lynx Entertainment after nearly a decade with the record label.
The celebrated singer disclosed the development in a statement shared on his social media platforms, describing the decision as mutual and one taken in good faith.
KiDi expressed appreciation to Lynx Entertainment for its contribution to his growth and success in the music industry, noting that the label played a significant role in shaping his career.
“After an incredible journey with Lynx Entertainment, I have decided to embark on a new chapter as an independent artiste. I’m grateful for the love, support, and opportunities I received throughout my time with the label,” portions of his statement read.
The “Touch It” crooner joined Lynx Entertainment in 2015 after winning the fourth edition of MTN Hitmaker and quickly rose to become one of Ghana’s most successful contemporary musicians.
During his stay with the label, KiDi released several chart-topping songs and award-winning projects, including Say Cheese, Enjoyment, Mon Bebe, Touch It, and Lomo Lomo.
His 2021 hit single Touch It gained global attention and became a viral sensation on TikTok, earning him international recognition and expanding his fanbase beyond Africa.
KiDi indicated that his transition into independence marks the beginning of a new phase focused on artistic growth, innovation, and greater creative control.
Lynx Entertainment has also acknowledged the split, commending the artiste for his contributions and achievements during his time with the label.
