NDC vows to challenge swearing-in of three disputed MPs

The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced its intention to challenge the outcomes of the re-collated constituency results for three constituencies as directed by the High Court.

On January 2, the High Court in Accra ordered the Electoral Commission (EC) to finalize the collation of results for Techiman South, Okaikwei Central, and Tema Central constituencies, all of which were declared in favour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking to journalists in Accra on Tuesday, January 7, the NDC’s Deputy Director of I.T. and Elections, Dr. Rashid Tanko Computer, stated that the party would revisit the issues surrounding the results.

“We didn’t even agree to what they did over there. That was a charade. We are not going to accept it. There is an appeal on it. We are also filing a stay of execution. These illegal people and the lawless Electoral Commission went ahead and gazetted those three illegal MPs. We will take them out.
