John Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been characterized by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), as a symbol of Ghana’s past.
He made these comments as he clearly compared the present NPP government to previous President Mahama’s administration, emphasizing the notable advancements he believes have been made under NPP leadership.
Speaking to a group of supporters in the Northern Region on November 21, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the differences between the two governments while highlighting the NPP’s achievements.
He notably brought up the lack of chalk in classrooms under Mahama’s administration and contrasted it with the NPP government’s provision of computers for pupils.
He pointed to this shift as an obvious indication of advancement and a demonstration of the NPP’s dedication to innovation and modernization, especially in the field of education.
Dr. Bawumia urged voters to view the 2024 election as a pivotal choice between stagnation and progressive progress, pointing out that the NPP’s emphasis on technology and education contrasted sharply with the previous administration’s difficulties with basic necessities.
Dr. Bawumia presented the NPP’s distinct and aspirational vision for Ghana’s future, which is focused on technical improvements and sustainable growth.
He urged voters to back a course of innovation and further growth, saying he thought the NPP was in the strongest position to ensure the nation’s prosperity in the future.
“This election is about who can deliver the transformation Ghana needs, and I am confident that I am the better choice for the future of our country.”
“In his time, there was no chalk in schools. We are buying tablets for school children. Every child will get one. No one will be left out. We are even buying laptops for teachers. We are buying it for teachers from Kindergarten to SHS.”
