The La Traditional Council’s operations have been put on hold indefinitely by the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs and the Ministry of Religious and Chieftaincy Affairs.
The purpose of the suspension of the Council is to enable the Regional House and Ministry to put policies in place that will ensure the Council runs smoothly.
All governmental entities were cautioned not to interact with people or organisations purporting to represent the La Traditional Council in a statement released upon the suspension.
Apart from that, as per Section 45 of the Chieftaincy Act, the matters concerning Paramount Stool Land are currently on hold until the Council reconvenes or until a new La Paramount Chief is appointed.
