Bechem United assistant coach Yahaya Malam banned three months, fined GHS 20,000

Bechem United FC assistant coach Yahaya Malam has been handed a three-month ban and fined GHS 20,000 by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee for misconduct.

The sanction follows incidents that occurred after Bechem United’s Ghana Premier League match against Karela United FC, where the official was found guilty of inciting supporters against match officials.

According to the ruling, the three-month suspension takes immediate effect, with Malam barred from all football-related activities during the period.

In addition to the ban, he has been directed to pay the fine within fourteen (14) days of notification.

The Disciplinary Committee also issued a formal warning to the Bechem United assistant coach, cautioning that any future misconduct will result in stiffer sanctions.

The decision forms part of the GFA’s efforts to enforce discipline and ensure respect for match officials in the domestic game.
