Medeama SC’s Second-Half Blitz Downs Berekum Chelsea

Medeama SC extended their lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League after Matchday 13 with a determined 2–1 comeback victory over Berekum Chelsea at the Tarkwa TnA Park yesterday.

Berekum Chelsea drew first blood in the 13th minute when Faisal Shaibu expertly finished off a swift attacking move, giving the visitors an early advantage. The goal rattled the home side, who struggled to penetrate Chelsea’s compact defensive setup throughout the first half.

After the break, Medeama returned with renewed intensity. Their persistence paid off in the 57th minute when Jacob Amo Mensah rose to head in the equaliser from a perfectly delivered cross. The goal sparked fresh energy in the team, and with the crowd roaring them on, Medeama stepped up the pressure. In the 69th minute, Salim Adams curled a sensational long-range strike into the net, completing the turnaround and sending the home supporters into a frenzy.

Chelsea coach Samuel Boadu had hoped to secure all three points to lift his side away from the lower end of the table, but Medeama’s second-half resurgence proved unstoppable.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko and his players remain fully focused on their league ambitions, and this victory reinforces their hold on the summit, highlighting the team’s resilience, determination, and fighting spirit.
