In an official statement dated April 24, 2026, the Hunters distanced the club from the remarks made by Mallam Yahaya during a series of media interviews, insisting they were personal views and do not reflect the club’s position.

“Bechem United FC wishes to officially disassociate itself from the recent comments made by our Assistant Coach, Mallam Yahaya… We would like to make it unequivocally clear that the statements he made reflect his personal opinions and do not represent the position, views, or values of Bechem United FC,” the statement said.
