Basake Holy Stars head coach Evans Augustine Adotey has expressed his disappointment with the club’s recent form but remains confident that a turnaround is imminent as his side prepares to face Heart of Lions in a Matchday 7 fixture at the Kpando Sports Stadium.
Speaking ahead of the crucial Ghana Premier League fixture, the experienced coach acknowledged the frustrations within the team and the wider Holy Stars community but believes better days are coming.
“The entire Holy Stars family is unhappy about the current situation, and definitely soon the tables will turn,” Coach Adotey told the club’s media.
Basake Holy Stars have endured a difficult start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League League season, with mixed performances and defeats hampering their progress. Despite the setbacks, the team has shown potential, creating numerous chances in matches but struggling to finish them off.
Coach Adotey emphasized that his technical team has been working hard to correct these issues, focusing on goal conversion and mental resilience during training sessions.
“We are working on improving our finishing and maintaining concentration throughout the 90 minutes. Once we start converting our chances, the results will speak for themselves,” he added.
The match against Heart of Lions is expected to be fiercely contested, as the Kpando-based side has been dominant at home this season. However, Adotey’s men are motivated to deliver a statement performance and secure their second win of the campaign.
Supporters of Basake Holy Stars have been urged to remain patient and continue backing the team. Club management has also reaffirmed their confidence in Coach Adotey and his long-term project to build a competitive side capable of challenging for promotion.
The upcoming clash at Kpando Sports Stadium could mark the beginning of a much-needed revival for Holy Stars, one that Coach Adotey insists is “only a matter of time.”
