The Paramount Chief of Lower Axim Traditional Council, Awuale Atibrukusu III has taken a bold step to combat the activities of illegal miners in his jurisdiction.
This bold decision came as a result of calls to put a stop to illegal mining (galamasey) in Ghana which is highly affecting lands and water bodies.
As a result, Awulae Atibrukusu III led a committee of elders including sub-chiefs to arrest a number of illegal miners in his area.
