Hot News: Ing. Ben Asante Resigns as CEO of Ghana Gas

A major chapter for the state-owned company has come to an end with the resignation of Ing. Ben Asante as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas).

The corporation is based in Atuabo, Ellembelle District, Western Region, and Dr. Asante was confirmed as the acting CEO after President Nana Akufo-Addo appointed him to the role on January 30, 2017.

Throughout his tenure, Dr. Asante put into effect revolutionary ideas that gave indigenous knowledge a higher priority in Ghana Gas’s management and operations.

The nation previously spent millions of dollars on foreigners, notably Chinese nationals, to run the plant, but this calculated move saved millions of dollars.

The welfare of Ghana Gas personnel, who were among the lowest paid in the oil and gas industry, was another priority of his administration.

By effectively advocating for pay increases ranging from 30% to 85%, Dr. Asante greatly improved the working conditions for employees.
