A thorough investigation into claims of malpractice in the ongoing 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) has been declared by the Ghana Education Service (GES).
The GES said in a statement released on Sunday, September 7, that it had taken notice of media stories that claimed cheating in some schools, especially one from JoyNews TV.
The public was given assurances by management that the documentary’s transcripts would be acquired and carefully examined as part of the investigation.
The Service reiterated its zero-tolerance policy for exam malpractice and threatened to take harsh disciplinary action against any official, whether they were teaching or not.
The GES claims that in order to eradicate the threat, the inquiry will be conducted in coordination with WAEC, National Security, and law enforcement organizations, with the full support of Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu.
