The King and overlord of, His Royal Majesty (Awulae) Blay IX has issued a strong message to his subjects ahead of the December 7th elections.
In his statement, he admonished his subject not to be used as an instrument of violence but rather as champions of peace.

My dear citizens of Ellembelle and fellow Ghanaians,
As we approach the 2024 general elections, I call on all political parties, their supporters, and every citizen of this great nation to uphold the principles of peace, unity, and mutual respect. Elections are a cornerstone of our democracy, and they offer us an opportunity to express our will as a people. However, this must be done in an atmosphere of tranquility and fairness.
Let us remember that our shared destiny as Ghanaians far outweighs any political differences. I urge all political parties to commit to issue-based campaigns, avoiding inflammatory language or actions that could divide us. To the youth, I entreat you not to be used as instruments of violence but as champions of peace and progress.
Ellembellemanle has always stood as a beacon of harmony, and I trust that we will once again set a standard for others to emulate. To the Electoral Commission, security agencies, and other stakeholders, I charge you to discharge your duties with the utmost integrity and impartiality to ensure credible and transparent elections.
Let us remember the words of our forebears: “Unity is strength.” Together, let us safeguard the peace of our nation before, during, and after the elections. Ghana is our only home; let us protect it.
