The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reiterated its commitment to use its win in the general elections on December 7 as an opportunity for Ghana’s development and prosperity.
NDC General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey said during a press conference at the party’s headquarters on Sunday, December 8, that the party is still committed to using its recently obtained mandate to serve the country in a responsible manner.
In his speech, Fifi Kwetey encouraged Jean Mensa, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), to make sure that the results announcement is not postponed needlessly. Fifi Kwetey emphasized the party’s faith in the election’s conclusion, saying the NDC’s win was clear-cut and indisputable.
“We have secured a very significant majority and a majority that we aim to use responsibly and for the progress of the people of Ghana.
“The process as far as the presidential result is also concerned, we will urge the chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa and her team to make sure the declaration is not unduly delayed because we know for a fact that nothing can be done about it because it is already in the bag.”
