I Will Do It To Honour Dr. Kwame Nkrumah – Mahama’s declaration in Nkroful

In a bold announcement, former President John Mahama pledged to finish the unfinished road improvements in Nkroful, the Western Region town that gave birth to Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president.

Both residents and internet users have criticised these incomplete projects that the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has left undone.

Mahama stressed during his visit, how important it is to give Nkroful the respect it merits as a symbol of pride in the country as well as a historical place.

He emphasised how important it is to have enough road infrastructure in the area in order to respect Dr. Nkrumah’s legacy. Residents who have long lamented the bad condition of the roads in the area found comfort in Mahama’s pledge to repair the road issues.

One thing is certain despite the differing opinions: Mahama’s promise has rekindled discussions about the development of Nkroful and its importance in Ghanaian history.
