German Bundesliga side Mainz 05 have completed the signing of Ghana international Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer on a free transfer after the expiration of his contract with Hamburger SV.
The 24-year-old joins the Bundesliga outfit following an impressive stint with HSV, where he emerged as one of the club’s key attacking players.
Königsdörffer made 33 league appearances last season, showcasing his pace, versatility and attacking quality as Hamburg competed in the Bundesliga after securing promotion back to the top flight.

The Ghana forward featured 93 times during Hamburg’s stay in the 2. Bundesliga and played a vital role in helping the former European champions regain their place in Germany’s elite division before completing his switch to Mainz.
Born in Berlin, Königsdörffer began his professional career with Dynamo Dresden before joining Hamburger SV in 2022.
During his time at Hamburg, he established himself as a versatile attacker capable of operating as a striker, winger and second forward. His energetic performances and attacking contributions made him an important figure for the club.
On the international stage, Königsdörffer represents Ghana and made his debut for the Black Stars in 2022. He was also part of Ghana’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Mainz 05 are expected to strengthen their attacking options significantly with the arrival of the Ghanaian forward ahead of the new Bundesliga season.
The move presents Königsdörffer with another major opportunity to continue his development and further establish himself at the highest level of German football.
