TRANSFER NEWS: Emmanuel Owusu Boakye Completes AS GNN Switch in Niger

Former Karela United and FC Samartex 1996 forward, Emmanuel Owusu Boakye, has officially completed a move to Nigerien top-flight side Association Sportive des Gendarmerie Nationale Nigérienne (AS GNN), putting pen to paper on a one-year contract ahead of the new season.

The 26-year-old attacker arrives in Niamey following a steady rise in the Ghana Premier League, where he featured for Karela United and FC Samartex. He also previously played for Bechem United, adding further top-flight experience to his résumé in Ghanaian football.

Owusu Boakye is expected to strengthen AS GNN’s attacking unit with his pace, versatility, and sharp eye for goal. His attributes are seen as vital as the club continues its campaign in the Niger Super Ligue, with hopes that he can make an immediate impact in front of goal.

The move marks his first professional stint outside Ghana and represents a significant step in his career development. It also highlights the increasing presence of Ghanaian players across African leagues, as more talents seek opportunities beyond the domestic stage.

Owusu Boakye will now look to adapt quickly and establish himself as a key figure in AS GNN’s setup in the months ahead.
