In a significant stride towards improving educational facilities in the Western Region, Hon. Dorcas Affo-Toffey, Deputy Minister for Transport and Member of Parliament for Jomoro, has commissioned a six-unit, modern classroom block at Nana Arvo Nwiah Basic School in Forest Junction.
The new classrooms replace the old, worn-out structures that had long hindered learning in this cocoa-growing community near Tikobo No. 2 in the Jomoro Municipality. Built to contemporary standards, the facility promises a safe and stimulating environment, enabling pupils to learn effectively and thrive academically.
During the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Affo-Toffey underscored the positive impact the project will have on education in the area. She noted that the classroom block is expected to benefit over ten thousand residents in the surrounding scattered communities, especially with the recent construction of a bridge linking the neighborhoods.

“This initiative goes beyond bricks and mortar; it is an investment in our children’s future and a step toward empowering communities through quality education,” Hon. Affo-Toffey emphasized.
Residents and local leaders lauded the MP for her commitment to educational development, highlighting the importance of modern facilities in nurturing the growth and potential of young learners. This project forms part of Hon. Affo-Toffey’s broader vision to enhance education and community development across Jomoro.
With the inauguration of this ultra-modern classroom block, Nana Arvo Nwiah Basic School is now better equipped to provide an enriching and conducive learning environment, shaping the minds of the next generation in the Western Region.
