Veteran Public Servant Dr. Sipa Yankey Appointed Chairman of Tema Shipyard

Dr. George Sipa-Adjah Yankey has been named the new Board Chairman of the Tema Shipyard and Dry-Dock Company Limited, a move expected to inject fresh leadership and strategic direction into Ghana’s maritime sector.

Bringing decades of experience in both public service and corporate management, Dr. Sipa Yankey is well-positioned to guide the state-owned enterprise. He served as Ghana’s Minister of Health under the late President John Evans Atta Mills in 2009, overseeing critical reforms that shaped the nation’s healthcare system. He subsequently led the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) as CEO, spearheading major initiatives that strengthened Ghana’s energy infrastructure.

It is believe that under Dr. Sipa Yankey’s leadership, the Tema Shipyard will undergo revitalization, marked by innovation, operational excellence, and strategic growth.
