Ex-Anokyi United Goalkeeper Francis Kablan Pens European Chapter with SPQV Velletri

Former Anokyi United goalkeeper Francis Koudio Kablan has taken a bold step onto the European stage after completing a two-year move to Italian lower-division side SPQV Velletri Calcio.

The highly rated 22-year-old shotstopper, who has previously guarded the posts for African giants Kaizer Chiefs and Petro Atlético de Luanda, arrives in Italy with growing pedigree and quiet confidence, ready to test his craft in a new footballing culture.

Kablan’s switch to Velletri is layered with familiarity and purpose. The goalkeeper has reunited with former coach Massimo Veroni, under whose guidance he previously developed his game in South Africa. That renewed partnership is expected to smooth his transition and reignite the promise that once marked him as one to watch.

Born in Ghana, Kablan recently made the personal decision to switch international allegiance to Ivory Coast, aligning with his paternal heritage and opening a fresh international pathway as his career progresses.

Before this European leap, Kablan’s journey was shaped across multiple terrains. He has featured for Basake United, Tanoe Akuba SC, Alasco Babies, Rail Stars, Saada Academy, Uriel FC, Samenye United, and Anokyi United, each chapter contributing to the refinement of a goalkeeper defined by resilience, composure, and ambition.
