The Circuit Court Two in Cape Coast has sentenced Eric Asamoah, a resident of Mankessim, to 16 years imprisonment in hard labour for defilement.
According to a statement from the Ghana Police Service’s Public Affairs Unit in Cape Coast, the case was heard on Thursday, November 6, 2025, before Her Honour Nana Aba Quaiba Nunoo.

Eric Asamoah was charged with defilement after being accused of sexually assaulting a minor on November 2, 2025. During the court proceedings, the accused person pleaded guilty to the charge and was subsequently convicted on his own plea.
The court handed him a 16-year sentence in hard labour, underscoring the seriousness of the offence. Police confirmed that Asamoah has since been transferred to the Ankaful Prison to begin serving his sentence.
The Ghana Police Service reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice for victims of sexual abuse and warned that such crimes will be met with the full force of the law.
