Evans Adotey Named Head Coach of Basake Holy Stars FC

Basake Holy Stars FC has announced the reappointment of Augustine Evans Adotey as head coach following the departure of Abdulai Gazale, who has joined Accra Hearts of Oak.

Gazale parted ways with the Nzema-based side at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Adotey, a former Black Satellites (U-20) trainer, previously coached Basake Holy Stars in the 2021/22 Access Bank Division One League season.

The club is delighted to confirm that Head Coach Evans Augustine Adotey has signed a new three-year contract with the “Big Holy.”

The experienced tactician also coached Karela United and famously guided Medeama SC to their maiden Ghana Premier League triumph in the 2022/23 season.

Earlier in his career, Adotey served as technical director of Medeama SC, leading the Yellow and Mauves to their first-ever CAF Confederation Cup group stage appearance in 2016.

Now 60, Adotey brings a wealth of experience at both youth and senior levels. He has also served as assistant coach of the Black Queens, Ghana’s senior women’s national team.

Basake Holy Stars secured promotion to the Premier League for the first time last season and are restructuring their technical setup ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, which kicks off in September.

Adotey’s first assignment will be a home fixture against Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena (Samreboi) on Matchday 1 of the new season.
