Ben Owu Takes Over From rom Boniface Oluoch As Gor Mahia Goalkeepers’ Trainer

FKF Premier League outfits, Gor Mahia Football Club have appointed veteran shot stopper, Ben Owu as their new Goalkeepers trainer as, the club announced on Friday, August 1, 2025, through its official X account.

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ben Owu from Ghana as goalkeeper coach. Welcome to Mahia, Ben,” the club posted.

The 50-year old replaces Boniface Oluoch, who was relieved of his duties as part of the the K’Ogalo Lads broader overhaul of its technical team.

Ben Owu, a former Ghana U-17 and U-20 International goalkeeper, brings a wealth of experience from his playing career with clubs such as FC Galați Steel in Romania, Asante Kotoko, and Ashanti Gold, along with coaching experience at Medeama SC.

His appointment is part of a wider effort by Gor Mahia to rebuild their technical team following a disappointing 2024/25 season. The announcement of Owu’s arrival came alongside three other key appointments.
