The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has named George Finidi, as the interim coach of the Super Eagles ahead of their games against Ghana and Mali at the Grande Stade Marrakech, Morocco.
Finidi, the Enyimba FC trainer was the assistant coach of the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’ Ivoire.
This comes days after former boss, Jose Peseiro left his job following the expiration of his contract.
The 52-year represented the Super Eagles at four Africa Cup of Nations and one of the highlights of his career apart from being a Champions League winner at Ajax Amsterdam was helping Nigeria to annex the 1994 AFCON in Tunisia, where he started all the knockout games.
He totaled 20 appearances at the Africa Cup of Nations and also won the silver medal in 2000 and bronze medals in 1992 and 2002.
