The Member of Parliament (MP) for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has returned to Ghana to a heartfelt reception from her constituents and family after spending some time in the United States following a serious car accident in August.

Affo-Toffey had taken a short break to recover from the traumatic incident, which occurred while she was traveling with her team along the Takoradi-Cape Coast-Accra highway. The accident, described as a close brush with death, took place on a Thursday in August when the MP and her entourage were heading back to Accra after launching her re-election campaign at Half Assini.

According to reports, the accident happened at Komenda Junction around 5:05 a.m. Eyewitnesses recounted that Affo-Toffey’s vehicle, a Ford Raptor, narrowly avoided a head-on collision with a large truck that was attempting a dangerous overtaking maneuver. The quick thinking of her driver helped to prevent what could have been a devastating accident.

The MP, who was visibly shaken by the incident, decided to take time off to rest and recover after the ordeal. She chose to travel to the United States to seek some peace and relaxation away from the pressures of public life and her political duties.

Upon her return to Ghana, Dorcas Affo-Toffey was greeted with an outpouring of affection from her supporters, friends, and family members. Constituents of Jomoro gathered in large numbers to welcome their MP back home, expressing their relief that she had safely recovered and returned to continue her work.
