A body that vanished from the mortuary at Ashaiman Trinity Hospital more than two months ago has been discovered.
On Friday, April 19, 2024, a day before the scheduled burial, the body was reported missing.
Following a thorough investigation by the family of the deceased, Mary Opari Animle, and the officials at Trinity Hospital, it was discovered that the body had been accidentally taken by another family, whose deceased also shared the same first name.
The Ashaiman District Court ordered the hospital and both families to remove the body from the cemetery after the family that had unlawfully stolen it agreed.
It was during this procedure that Mary Opari Animle’s real body was found.
Since then, the body has been brought back to the mortuary at Trinity Hospital, and plans for the burial are still in progress.
