Prof. Bruce Frayne, dean of the University of Waterloo’s academic of Environment, stated during the signing ceremony that the agreement was anticipated to foster academic, staff, and student exchanges as well as the creation of coherent or common curricula, programmes, and degrees.
He stated that the agreement’s signing marked the end of a lengthy exchange of ideas and collaboration between the two universities in an effort to improve their operational efficiency.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rosemond Boohene, who signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of UCC, commented on the alliance and said it was important that academic institutions form partnerships.
