Tumivolɛ Kaku Aka III Advocates Global Unity at UN Observance Day for Victims of Chemical Weapons and Warfare

The Overlord of Nzemaland, Tumivolɛ Kaku Aka III, delivered an inspiring and emotionally charged address at the UN Observance Day for Victims of Chemical Weapons and Warfare, held on November 30 at the Takoradi Mall Conference Hall. The solemn occasion gathered diplomats, peace ambassadors, traditional rulers, civil society organisations, and security professionals in a collective appeal to end the menace of chemical violence worldwide.

Hosted by the United Nations-International Association of World Peace Advocates (UN-IWA), the ceremony honoured victims of chemical attacks while strengthening global conversations on prevention, policy reform, and humanitarian protection.

Addressing the gathering, Tumivolɛ Kaku Aka III, the Overlord of Nzemaland—described chemical weapons as “one of humanity’s darkest creations”, stressing that their devastating effects cut across borders and generations. He called for deeper cooperation among nations, international bodies, and grassroots communities to halt the spread and misuse of such destructive agents.

He also highlighted the indispensable role of traditional authority in peacebuilding, noting that chiefs must champion dialogue, mediation, and community harmony. Safeguarding human life, he stated, must be embraced as both a universal responsibility and a foundational cultural value.

The Overlord further applauded the United Nations and its partners for their tireless work in promoting chemical disarmament. He emphasised the importance of global agreements like the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) in promoting accountability and advancing worldwide peace efforts.

The programme featured panel discussions, expert analyses, and poignant survivor testimonies that shed light on the health, environmental, and humanitarian consequences of chemical warfare. Participants unanimously called for sustained public education, stronger enforcement of international laws, and increased support for affected populations.

King Kaku Aka III’s compelling message resonated deeply with all present, affirming his influence as a leading advocate for peace in Ghana and beyond. His call for collective vigilance and moral responsibility reinforced the urgency of protecting present and future generations from chemical atrocities.

The observance concluded with a renewed global commitment to honour victims, prevent recurrence, and strengthen advocacy for lasting peace, an agenda passionately championed by the revered Overlord of Nzemaland.
