“Truth Unveiled: Ampain Chief Details Real Story Behind Nzema Stadium Controversy”

Nana Nyamekɛ Fofolɛ V, Chief of Ampain, has shed light on the recent land dispute involving Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III, Nzema Kotoko FC, and Basake Holy Stars over ownership of the Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III Sports Arena.

In an exclusive interview on West End Radio 100.3 FM after the Sekondi High Court ruling on Monday, the Ampain Chief firmly stated that no money was paid for the land in question. He explained that only the necessary traditional and customary rites, such as the presentation of local drinks and other cultural items, were carried out to observe customary procedures, not as a commercial transaction.

“The land was never sold; only the customary rituals were performed, as tradition demands. Nobody made any payment for it,” Nana Nyamekɛ Fofolɛ V asserted.

He clarified that the sports complex, the Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III Sports Arena, was fully financed and built by Ghana Gas Company Limited and not by any private individual. He further pointed out that Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III could not provide legal documents to support his claim over the facility, which led to the dismissal of his case by the court.

The Sekondi High Court’s ruling has reignited public discussion on land ownership and documentation within the Western Region, particularly in the Nzema enclave. The verdict, according to observers, highlights the critical need for transparency, proper record-keeping, and respect for customary boundaries in land transactions.

Nana Nyamekɛ Fofolɛ concluded by urging all stakeholders to accept the ruling in good faith and focus on using the Stadium for its intended purpose of fostering sports development and empowering the youth of Nzema.
