Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Abubakar has officially completed a loan transfer to South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Orbit College FC, joining the club from Karela United ahead of the next phase of the season.
The 25-year-old departs the Ghanaian outfit in pursuit of regular game time and a fresh challenge abroad, as he takes another significant step in his professional journey. Abubakar boasts solid experience in Ghanaian football, having previously featured for BA United and Dreams FC.
His time at Dreams FC proved particularly impactful, as he was part of the club’s historic campaign in the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup, where he gained valuable continental exposure while representing Ghana against some of Africa’s elite clubs. That experience sharpened his tactical discipline, composure, and adaptability in high-pressure situations.

A hardworking and intelligent defender, Abubakar is expected to bring balance, energy, and experience to the Orbit College FC setup as the club looks to strengthen its squad for the remainder of the PSL campaign.
Karela United, meanwhile, will closely monitor his progress in South Africa, confident that the loan spell will further enhance his development and overall value.
Abubakar is anticipated to link up with his new teammates immediately as Orbit College FC intensify preparations for upcoming league fixtures.
