TRANSFER NEWS: Justice Blay Completes Move to Iraqi Side Al Kadhimiya SC

Former Asante Kotoko Sporting Club midfielder Justice Blay has opened a new chapter in his professional career after sealing a one-year deal with Iraq League side Al Kadhimiya SC.

The Ghanaian international makes the move following his departure from the Porcupine Warriors, where he carved a reputation as a reliable and influential presence in midfield throughout his time at the club.

Blay initially joined Asante Kotoko on a season-long loan from Medeama SC, quickly standing out with his consistency, physical strength, and tactical awareness. His impressive displays during that spell prompted Kotoko to secure his services on a permanent basis ahead of the 2021/22 season.

During his stay in Kumasi, the 33-year-old earned widespread admiration for his ball-winning ability and composure on the ball, often dictating the tempo of play. These qualities also earned him call-ups and appearances at the national team level.

The switch to Al Kadhimiya SC marks Blay’s first professional stint outside Ghana, presenting him with an opportunity to test his experience and quality in a new footballing environment. The Iraqi club will be hoping his leadership and midfield discipline prove vital as they prepare for the upcoming league campaign.
