TRANSFER NEWS: Gor Mahia FC Strengthen Squad with Ghanaian Duo

Nairobi-based Gor Mahia FC have bolstered their ranks with the signing of Ghanaian attackers Ebenezer Adukwaw and George Amonoo, both bringing valuable experience from the Ghana Premier League.

EBENEZER ADUKWAW

Adukwaw began his professional career with Skyy FC before moving to Elmina Sharks in 2021, where he featured prominently in the 2021–22 season with 17 appearances and two goals. He later spent a brief spell abroad with Kosovo’s KF Trepça 89 in early 2023 before returning to Ghana to join Bechem United, where he played 17 matches in the 2023–24 campaign. Although limited to just three appearances last season, his pace and energy remain qualities Gor Mahia will be keen to unlock.

GEORGE AMONOO

George Amonoo comes in with a steady record across several Ghanaian clubs. He started out with Inter Allies before moving to Elmina Sharks in 2019, then went on to feature for FC Samartex in the 2020/21 season. In 2021, he joined Karela United, where he became a reliable figure on the wing, making 19 appearances in both the 2022–23 and 2023–24 seasons. Most recently unattached, he now looks set for a fresh chapter with Gor Mahia, offering consistency, versatility, and much-needed creativity in attack.

The pair join at a time when Gor Mahia are under new leadership, with C.K. Akonnor appointed as head coach and Bismark Kobi Mensah as his assistant. Akonnor’s pedigree as a former Ghana captain and national coach, combined with Mensah’s tactical insight, provides a strong foundation for the new recruits. Their shared history—Mensah previously coached Amonoo at Karela United—should ease the transition and strengthen team chemistry.

With Adukwaw and Amonoo added to the squad under an experienced Ghanaian technical bench, Gor Mahia have made a clear statement of intent. The club is determined not only to reclaim domestic dominance but also to make a strong impression on the continental stage. For the K’Ogalo faithful, the blend of fresh talent and proven leadership is a promising sign of what lies ahead.
