TRANSFER NEWS: Dacosta Antwi Seals Loan Move from Ghana to Anderlecht

Ghana’s dynamic young centre-back Dacosta Antwi, an 18-year-old standout in the Black Satellites’ defence, has officially completed a loan move to Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht, with a permanent deal on the table should he impress.

The towering, left-footed defender, standing at approximately 1.86 meters, has been widely praised for his composure, strength in duels, and sharp tactical awareness. His exceptional performances during the U-20 AFCON in Egypt 2025 earned him a place in the tournament’s Best XI, after he helped Ghana concede just one goal throughout the group stage—an achievement that turned plenty of heads across Europe.

Antwi made a name for himself with Young Apostles in the Ghana Premier League, where his calm presence on the ball, accurate passing, and fierce determination to protect his goal quickly caught attention.

Now at Anderlecht, he joins a club with a rich history of developing top defensive talent, stepping into a system built to refine raw potential into elite-level quality. If he adapts well and continues his upward trajectory, this loan could be a stepping stone to the grand stages of European football.

This move is more than just a transfer—it’s a golden gateway. With clubs like Zamalek also previously eyeing him, Antwi’s rise has been anything but unnoticed. Now, wearing the iconic purple and white of Anderlecht, he stands on the brink of something special. If he delivers, the journey from the pitches in Ghana to the heart of European football could soon be a reality.

He made 7 appearances for Young Apostles in the 2024/25 Ghana Football campaign.
